Sincona sale 47, lot 2504

This specimen was lot 2504 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$600 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Aargau, Zofingen, Städtische Prägungen. Vierer 1722. Selten. Fast FDC. (canton of Aargau, city of Zofingen, quarter of 1722. Rare, About uncirculated.)"

The SCWC lists this scarce type for 1720 and 1722 only. A vierer was half a kreuzer and a batzen was four kreuzer.

Specification: billon, this specimen 0.78 g.
