This specimen was lot 60 in Schulman auction 388 (Amsterdam, December 2025), where it sold for €3,800 (about US$5,354 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Dubbele dukaat, ZEELAND Provincie 1580 - 1795, 1650, Gold Type I. Staande ridder met Spaanse helm, zwaard en pijlenbundel tussen jaartal, met binnencirkel CONCORDIA. RES. - PA - RVAE. CRES. ZEL. ♖ . Kz. vierkant met 5-regelige tekst MO. AVR. etc. Hoogst gewaardeerde exemplaar bij NGC; bij PCGS slechts een hoger. RR NGC MS61. Vrijwel FDC. (double ducat of 1650, province of Zeeland, type I. Obverse: standing knight with Spanish helmet, sword and bundle of arrows within inner circle; reverse: inscription on square tablet, plain edge. Highest-graded example at NGC; only one higher at PCGS. Graded NGC MS61. Virtually FDC.)"
Zeeland, along with several other Dutch provinces, issued gold ducats from the sixteenth century until the termination of the United Provinces by Napoleon in the 1790's. This subtype is listed for 1645-62, 1668, 1672-73.
