The first specimen was lot 2104 in Jean Elsen sale 158 (Brussels, March 2024), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,121 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, ZEELAND, De Staten in opstand, AR halve gouden reaal van Brabant, z.j., Antwerpen. Met klop Zeeuws wapen. Vz/ Geharnast bb. r. Kz/ Gekroond wapenschild. Zeer zeldzaam. Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Zeeland, States Revolt, undated gold half real of Brabant, Antwerp mint, with a Zeeland counterstamp. Obverse: armored bust right; reverse: crowned arms. Very rare, Very Fine.)

In 1573 werd bij verordening van de Staten van Holland en Zeeland de waarde van de buitenlandse munten als oorlogsbelasting met 1/8 verhoogd. Slechts de munten met een Hollandse of Zeeuwse klop mochten in omloop blijven. De Zeeuwse klop is zeldzamer dan die van Holland. Het waren overwegend munten uit de Zuidelijke Nederlanden die werden voorzien van een klop. (In 1573, as a war tax, the value of foreign coins was increased by 1/8 by ordinance of the States of Holland and Zeeland. Only coins with a Dutch or Zeeland counterstamp were allowed to remain in circulation. The Zeeland counterstamp is rarer than that of Holland. These were predominantly coins from the Southern Netherlands that were provided with a counterstamp.)"

The second specimen was lot 2105 in Jean Elsen sale 158 (Brussels, March 2024), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$3,901 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, ZEELAND, De Staten in opstand, AR halve gouden reaal van Vlaanderen, z.j., Brugge. Met klop Zeeuws wapen. Vz/ Geharnast bb. r. Kz/ Gekroond wapenschild. Zeer zeldzaam. Gereinigd. Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Zeeland, States Revolt, undated gold half real of Flanders, Bruges mint, with a Zeeland counterstamp. Obverse: armored bust right; reverse: crowned arms. Very rare, cleaned, very Fine.)"
