This specimen was lot 41200 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $4,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. Zamosc. 6 Groszy, 1813. Zamosc Mint. Friedrich August I. PCGS AU-50. A pleasing example of the popular Fortress siege type, with impressive details, a soft milk chocolate color, and only limited instance of actual handling. From the Collection of Kazmier Wysocki, former mayor of Hackensack, New Jersey." The closing stages of the Napoleonic Wars saw a brief spike in the production of siege coinage as the French and their allies retreated. Subsequent wars (with a few exceptions) did not see the long sieges needed for the creation of such emergency coinage. The SCWC lists several varieties (KM 1, KM 2, KM 3) for this issue.

Recorded mintage: 1,330.

Specification: 11.5 g, copper, 33 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM-1; H-Cz-34910 (R2); Kop-8448; Kam-575.
