Yugoslavia 1931 4 dukats Fr-4
This specimen was lot 1169 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €3,400 (about US$4,815 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"EUROPÄISCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · JUGOSLAWIEN, KÖNIGREICH Alexander I., 1921-1934. 4 Dukaten 1931, Belgrad. Mit Reinheits-Garantiestempel "Ähre" auf der Vorderseite. 13,76 g Feingold. GOLD. Fast Stempelglanz. (kingdom of Yugoslavia, Alexander I, 1921-34, four ducats of 1931, Belgrade mint, with "ear of corn" counterstamp on the obverse. About uncirculated.)"
After these coins were struck, they were individually counterstamped with a sword (KM 14.1) or an ear of wheat (KM 14.2) on the obverse to guarantee their purity. Uncountermarked specimens are denounced in the SCWC as counterfeits.
