Stack's Bowers November 2022 Collectors Choice sale, lot 75762

This specimen was lot 75762 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "YUGOSLAVIA. 25 Para, 1920. Vienna Mint. Peter I. PCGS MS-65. A stunning Gem example, delivering a full strike and soft luster that shimmers and sheens throughout the flan." In 1920, the country was still titled the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and was not named Yugoslavia until 1929. The monarchy collapsed under Nazi occupation and the country was reformed as a people's republic under Josip Tito after World War Two.
