The Kathiri State of the Seiyun & Tarim is an area in the eastern part of present-day Yemen. It later formed part of the Protectorate of South Arabia, which was eventually annexed by South Arabia, and became part of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Yemen. The example shown is a silver 24 khumsi (or chomsihs).
This specimen was lot 1861 in Steve Album auction #15 on January 18-19, 2013, and sold for US$------ . The lot description reads: "KATHIRI STATE OF SEIYUN & TARIM: al-Mansur ibn Ghalib al-Kathir, 1880-1929, AR 25 chomsihs, AH1315, Heaton mint specimen strike, NGC graded Proof 65."
