The Kathiri State of the Seiyun & Tarim is an area in the eastern part of present-day Yemen. It later formed part of the Protectorate of South Arabia, which was eventually annexed by South Arabia, and became part of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Yemen. The example shown is a bronze three khumsi (or chomsihs) with the date shown on both sides.
This specimen was lot 1713 in Steve Album auction 10 on April 22, 2011, and sold for US$220. The lot description reads: "KATHIRI STATE OF SEIYUN & TARIM: Sayyid Hussein ibn Sahil, 1842, AE 3 khumsi, Tarim, AH1258, excellent strike, without any weakness, Very Fine, S."
