This type was issued by Yemen in 1974, 1979-80 and 1985, along with a one, five, ten, twenty-five fils and one riyal. This specimen was lot 1026 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $141. The catalog description[1] noted, "YEMEN: 50 fils, 1979/AH1399, PCGS Specimen pop-4/2, total 8, PCGS graded Specimen 65."
Recorded mintage: 4,000,000.
