Wurzburg 1747 schilling KM-318
This specimen was lot 2998 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "WÜRZBURG: Anselm Franz, 1746-1749, AR schilling (6 neue pfennige), 1747, St. Killian, somewhat crude, two-year type, XF, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." This schilling was struck 1747-48. Another schilling of 1746-48 (KM 317) has the escutcheon of Ingelheim centered on the reverse shield. St. Kilian stands on the obverse. In Würzburg, one thaler was 28 schilling. Anselm Franz von Ingelheim ruled his diocese 1746-49. Unlike his predecessor, he was not simultaneously bishop of Bamberg. The territory was annexed to Bavaria in 1803.
