Wurzburg 1731 ducat Fr-3711
This specimen was lot 3832 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$9,689 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BISTUM Friedrich Karl von Schönborn, 1729-1746. Dukat 1731, Wien. Brustbild r. in geistlichem Ornat//Mit Kurhut bedecktes, mehrfeldiges Wappen, dahinter Schwert und Krummstab gekreuzt, im Hintergrund gekrönter Wappenmantel. GOLD. RR Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, bishoprics of Bamberg and Wurzburg, Frederick Charles of Schonborn, 1729-46, ducat of 1731, Vienna mint.)"
This rare ducat is sometimes filed under Bamberg but we follow the SCWC in listing it under Wurzburg. The same nobleman was bishop of both states so it matters little.
