Künker sale 335, lot 4455

This specimen was lot 4455 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €11,000 (about US$14,395 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"WÜRTTEMBERG, WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH. Friedrich Karl, 1677-1693. 1/2 Reichstaler 1681, Stuttgart. Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit Feldherrnbinde und Spitzenjabot//Gekröntes, vierfeldiges Wappen, umher Lorbeerkranz. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, min. berieben, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Wurttemberg, Frederick Charles, 1677-93, half thaler of 1681, Stuttgart mint. Obverse: armored bust right with cravat; reverse: crowned, quartered arms in laurel wreath. Very rare, handsome patina, lightly polished, about extremely fine.)"
