Wismar 1759-F 3 pfening

This specimen was lot 11400 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €65 (about US$68). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 3 Pfennig, 1759 - F. Wismar Mint. Adolf Fredrik. NGC EF-40 Brown. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1746, 1749-51, 1755, 1759 and 1761 and is listed as inexpensive. The SCWC spells the denomination "pfennig", as Germans do today, but we are spelling it as it is shown on the coin, "pfening". Wismar was under Swedish rule 1648-1803.
