This specimen was lot 30703 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Westphalia. Jerome Napoleon Taler 1813-C MS65 PCGS, Cassel mint. Boldly struck, with argent-gray patina over full mint luster. Only a few tiny marks are noted on close examination, with a natural flan flaw on the edge between 5 and 6 o'clock. This is the only example certified in Mint State by either PCGS, or NGC." This type was struck in Cassel 1811-13. Westphalia was assembled from various northwest German principalities and given to Jerome, Napoleon's brother, to rule. At the Congress of Vienna, the area was restored to its former lords, Hannover and Prussia.
