This specimen was lot 54225 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $990. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. West Friesland. Ducat, 1635. Hoorn Mint. NGC MS-62. About as enticing and well executed as one is likely to encounter for the type, this nearly-Choice hammered gold issue presents elegant eye appeal and brilliant luster." This type is recorded in the SCWC for 1607-12, 1619-24, 1631-75. A rare klippe version (KM 36) exists for 1635.
