The West African States are a currency union of the former French colonies of Upper Volta, Senegal, Niger, Ivory Coast, Benin and Togo. A similar currency union exists for the Central African States. The original CFA 100 francs (KM 4) was struck of nickel 1967-92, 1996-97, 2000-05. It was converted to nickel plated steel (shown here) and struck in that form 2006-09, 2012-24. All were made at the Paris mint. The SCWC missed the change in alloy and all are listed therein under KM 4.
