This specimen, from a type issued 1976-98, was minted in Paris for the Central African States, a monetary union of Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Gabon and the Congo. It is accompanied by one, ten, five, twenty-five, one hundred and five hundred francs. The "A" on the reverse is not a mintmark but a letter indicating the coin was issued for Chad.
Recorded mintage: unknown, a fairly common date.
Specification: 4.7 g, nickel, 21.5 mm diameter.
