This specimen was lot 32332 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "Venezuela. Republic 2 Bolivares 1887 AU Details (Cleaned) NGC, Paris mint. Well struck and lightly toned, and despite having been cleaned, significant luster still remains." This Paris mint issue was accompanied by silver half, one and five bolivares and gold 100 bolivares. Coinage would be minted to this standard until 1936 but the early dates are generally rare. High and low 8 varieties exist for the date but are priced the same.
