This specimen was lot 1050 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "VATICAN CITY: Pius XII, 1939-1958, AR 5 lire, 1942, a lovely example, PCGS graded MS63." This type was issued 1942-46 for Pius XII, the second pope to rule over the newly independent Vatican City. It is scarce as the Rome mint had little resources to mint coins in the middle of World War Two.
