The Lincoln cent was introduced in 1909 to replace the Indian Head cent. In 1959, the reverse was redesigned to feature the Lincoln Memorial. This proof, struck in 1958, is from the final year of the old Wheat Ear reverse.

Recorded Mintage: 253,400,652 including 875,652 proofs.

Specification: 3.11 g, brass, 19 mm diameter, plain edge.
