Stephen Album sale 47, lot 1618

This specimen was lot 1618 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "UNITED STATES: AR 10 cents, 1919, Mercury Head type, a fantastic lustrous example with full split bands! PCGS graded MS66 FB, ex Marcel Hoessly Collection." This date from Philadelphia is common in all grades tho less so than the enormous issues of World War Two. The Denver and San Francisco products are quite expensive in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 35,740,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW, 17.9 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Adolph Weinman.
