United States 1907 10 dollars Fr-158
This specimen was lot 3325 in Sincona sale 87 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$2,020 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"USA, 10 Dollars 1907, Philadelphia. Liberty head type. Rare in this condition. PCGS MS64."
This specimen is one of a type struck at the Philadelphia mint 1839-1907. Issues are also recorded from New Orleans (1841-60, 1879-1906), San Francisco (1854-89, 1892-1907), Carson City (1870-84, 1890-93) and Denver (1906-07). In 1866, the motto "In God We Trust" was added to the reverse. The 1907 is common despite being the final date. In 1907, the mint adopted the Indian Head type designed by Augustus St. Gaudens.
