This specimen was lot 201 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "United States - Barber Half Dollar 1904 S, Silver San Francisco mint. Bust of Liberty right, 13 stars around, IN GOD WE TRUST, Rev. Heraldic eagle with 13 stars above and the denomination below, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NGC AU55." This issue is a better date of a type struck 1892-1916 at Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans and San Francisco (shown here).
Recorded mintage: 553,038, a better date.
Specification: 12.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 30.6 mm diameter, .361 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, designed by Charles Barber.
