The mint at Charlotte had its second highest production of any denomination in 1852, with nearly 73,000 Half Eagles coined. This is another one of the more available Half Eagles, yet as with all dates, finding original, problem-free examples in this age of rampant cleaning & brightening of early gold can prove quite difficult.

Recorded mintage: 72,574.

Specification: 21.6 mm diameter, 8.359 g, 0.900 fine gold, .2418 troy oz AGW, reeded edge.
