This type, struck 1809-28 in reasonable quantities, is available in circulated condition. It was slightly modified in 1828 to allow the use of steam powered presses.

Recorded mintage: 421,500.

Specification: 2.70 g, .892 fine silver, .076 try oz ASW, 18.8 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by John Reich.
