Sincona sale 26, lot 3314

This specimen was lot 3314 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$463 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY, Firenze, Cosimo III. 1670-1723 Piastra 1680. Gutes sehr schön. Zainende. (Italy, grand duchy of Tuscany, Cosimo III, 1670-1723, piastra of 1680, good very fine, clipped.)"

This type was struck 1680 only and is quite expensive in the SCWC. It was struck simultaneously with Dav-4210, which has a younger bust of the duke and a solid inner circle. This specimen appears to be clipped, perhaps to remove a mount.
