This specimen was lot 378 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Abdul Mejid, 1839-1861, AR 5 kuruş, Kostantiniye, AH1255 year 19, a wonderful lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS64." This type was struck years 6 thru 23 and there is little difference in value from one year to the next, according to the SCWC. This example realized 77 times the catalog value in EF.
