This specimen was lot 1965 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AR 5 para, Kostantiniye, AH1223 year 14, fourth monetary series, XF-AU, R, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." This type was struck year 14 only. Another five para of year 14 (KM 558) weighed 1.0-1.2 g. Debasement was continuous throughout the sultan's reign and coinage types were usually shortlived. Forty para equalled a kuruş.
