Steve Album sale 55, lot 1897

This specimen was lot 1897 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Abdul Hamid I, 1774-1789, AR zolota, Kostantiniye, AH1187 year 2, a pleasant mint state example, PCGS graded MS61, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." This type was struck years one thru eight and was worth thirty para. It is scarcer than the larger kuruş (40 para) or two zolota (60 para).
