This specimen was lot 74699 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY. Ottoman Empire. Zeri Mahbub, AH 1143 Year 12 (1730/1). Islambul (Constantinople) Mint. Mahmud I. PCGS MS-63. Tied with just one other example for the finest of the date seen at PCGS, this Choice minor in gold glistens with tremendous brilliance and a crisp, clear strike." This type is listed in the SCWC for regnal years 8, 12, 15. Another zeri mahbub, KM 221, was struck on a wider planchet.
