This specimen was lot 57 in Sincona sale 31 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 6,500 CHF (about US$7,716 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "OTTOMAN TUNIS | Mustafa IV (1222-1223ah/1807-1808ce) 8 kharub 1223ah (1808ce) Bi RRRR vf-xf." This type was struck AH 1222-1223 in the name of Mustafa IV in Constantinople. It is rare. Eight kharub made half a piastre or riyal, the largest silver coin issued in Tunisia in the eighteenth century.
