This specimen was lot 51 in Sincona sale 31 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,009 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "OTTOMAN TUNIS | Selim III (1203-1222ah/1789-1807ce) 4 kharub 1215ah (1800ce) Bi RRR Fdc." This type was struck AH 1215 only in the name of Selim III in Constantinople. It is very rare in nice condition. Four kharub made a quarter piastre or riyal, the largest silver coin issued in Tunisia in the eighteenth century.
