Sincona sale 31, lot 369

This specimen was lot 369 in Sincona sale 31 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$327 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "REPUBLIC OF TUNISIA, 10 dinars 1978ce (1398ah) AR w/case -unc ex Pf." This issue commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the central bank of Tunisia was issued in silver and gold and several reverses. This reverse features the mosque of El Zituna. It is rare but inexpensive for lack of demand.

Recorded mintage: 3,000 uncirculated plus proofs.

Specification: 38 g, 0.900 fine silver, 1.092 troy oz ASW, this specimen 38.13 g.
