This specimen was lot 1119 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €220 (about US$305 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "TUNISIA, French Protectorate, Muhammad al-Habib Bey (AD 1922-1929/AH 1340-1348) AR 50 centimes, 1925 A, Paris. 1003 p. struck. Cleaned. Very Fine - Extremely Fine." This type was struck 1922-28 in the name of Muhammad al-Habib Bey, a French puppet. All of his coinage, with the exception of a nickel bronze ten centimes issued in 1926, is rare. The French left in 1956 and in 1957 a republic was established, ousting the discredited monarchy.
