This specimen was lot 52633 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "TRISTAN DA CUNHA. Gold 50 Pence, 1987. Llantrisant Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the 40th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, this flawless and RARE specimen presents deeply mirrored fields along with immensely frosted devices." This design was struck in copper-nickel (KM 7b), silver (KM 7) and gold (KM 7a).
