Transylvania 1695-KV 10 ducats Fr-482
This specimen was lot 1262 in Sincona sale 54 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 18,000 CHF (about US$21,420 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HUNGARY | Transylvania, Leopold I. 1691-1705. 10 Dukaten 1695, Klausenburg. Von grösster Seltenheit. Sonst gutes sehr schön. Fassungsspuren und Felder geglättet. (principality of Transylvania, Leopold I, 1691-1705, ten ducats of 1695, Klausenburg mint. Of the highest rarity, Traces of mounting and fields tooled, Otherwise good very fine.)"
This rare and expensive type was struck 1695-96, probably for presentation.
