This specimen was lot 2807 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH INDIA: TRANQUEBAR: Christian VIII, 1839-1848, AE 4 kas, 1845, without VIII for "8" within the monogram; last year of Tranquebar coinage, XF, R, ex Solar Collection." The Danish fort at Tranquebar was sold to the British in 1845. When the one and two cash were reduced in weight early in the eighteenth century, the four and ten cash were added to supplement the denominations. This issue was struck 1840-45 and is the last of the denomination.
