This specimen was lot 2690 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH INDIA: Frederik VI, 1808-1839, AE 4 kas, Tranquebar, 1839, a lovely example with attractive brown patina, XF." The Danish fort at Tranquebar was sold to the British in 1845. When the one and two cash were reduced in weight early in the eighteenth century, the four and ten cash were added to supplement the denominations. This issue, KM 159.1, was struck 1825 and 1830-39.
