This specimen was lot 2786 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH INDIA: TRANQUEBAR: Christian VII, 1766-1808, AE 4 kas, 1790, superb strike, bold XF, ex Solar Collection." The Danish fort at Tranquebar was sold to the British in 1845. When the one and two cash were reduced in weight early in the eighteenth century, the four and ten cash were added to supplement the denominations. This type was struck 1782, 1786-90, 1797 and 1807.
