This specimen was lot 1235 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $390. The catalog description[1] noted, "TIBET: Hsuan Tung, 1909-1911, AE ¼ sho, year 1 (1909), two syllables of the legend in the upper square read shon thong (Tibetan transcription of [Emperor] Xuan Tong) separated by a small vertical stroke, legend in lower square reads: zho 'i 4/1 ("1/4 of the sho"), rim damage, PCGS graded VF details, ex Don Erickson Collection. In the Tibetan language fractions are written with the denominator placed above and the numerator below which is the opposite to the Western way of writing fractions."
