This specimen was lot 2884 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$402 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Thann (Elsass/Alsace), Batzen 1533, Thann. Selten. Sehr schön. Flaue Stellen (Thann in Alsace, batzen of 1533. Rare, Very fine, Some weakly struck areas)." This type was struck 1533-34 and 1545 and has a high catalog value. Today, the town has a population of 7,780 (2017).
