This specimen was lot 2118 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €2,100 (about US$2,911 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA, Republic (Taiwan) (1949-), AV medallic 2000 yuan, year 74 (1985). 120th anniversary Sun Yat-Sen's birth. Encapsulated. Proof." This medallic issue is not mentioned in the SCWC. Numista shows only the accompanying silver piece (N#435723), which was probably intended to be a 1000 yuan.
