Sincona sale 87, lot 4270

This specimen was lot 4270 in Sincona sale 87 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Eidgenossenschaft, 50 Franken 2006 B, Bern. Schweizer Garde. Nur 6'000 Exemplare geprägt. (confederation of Switzerland, fifty francs of 2006, Bern mint, Swiss Guard. Only 6,000 pieces struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO.)"

The Swiss Guard has served as the bodyguard of the pope since 1506.

Recorded mintage: 6,000.

Specification: 11.29 g, 0.900 fine gold, 25.1 mm diameter.
