Sincona Auction 103, lot 1886

This specimen was lot 1886 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 2,250 CHF (about US$3,429 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Schützentaler, Schützenmedaillen & Schützenvaria, 1989, Altdorf. Wilhelm Tell-Schiessen. 1 Unze Fein-Palladium. Randgravur: "GUT FÜR 50 FRANKEN AM SCHÜTZENFEST". Sehr selten. Nur 250 Exemplare geprägt. NGC PF70 ULTRA CAMEO. Prachtexemplar. Eines der durch NGC höchstbewerteten Exemplare. (Switzerland, shooting thalers, 1989, for the Altdorf shooting festival, one fine ounce palladium, edge lettered "Good for 50 francs at the festival". Very rare. Only 250 pieces struck, Cabinet piece, One of the finest certified by NGC.)"

This is the last of a privately issued series of medallions for the Altdorf shooting festival. It is not shown in the SCWC or Numista.
