Switzerland 1958-B 2 francs
This specimen was lot 75731 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. 2 Francs, 1958-B. Bern Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-67. Tied with a handful of others for the top spot in the PCGS census, this stunner undoubtedly transfixes the gaze of the viewer." This type was struck at the Bern mint 1874-1967. The design is still in use today tho the coin is now copper-nickel. This specimen is struck to the standard of the French two francs of 1866-1920. Altho this is a low mintage date, enough were saved that the SCWC awards it no premium.
