Sincona sale 97, lot 3576

This specimen was lot 3576 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$290 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Eidgenossenschaft, 20 Rappen 1938 B, Bern. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. NGC SP66. Prachtvoller Erstabschlag. (confederation of Switzerland, twenty rappen of 1938, Bern mint. Very rare in this condition, Magnificent first strike.)"

This type was struck 1881-1938 with no change in design. In 1939, the coin was converted to copper-nickel and is still in production in that form.

Recorded mintage: 2,805,000, a common date.

Specifications: 4 g, copper-nickel, 21.05 mm diameter, plain edge.
