Stack's Bowers November 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 74690

This specimen was lot 74690 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. 2 Francs, 1913-B. Bern Mint. PCGS MS-64. A beautiful example, the present specimen delivers good details and rich luster throughout." This type was struck 1874-1967 in this alloy at the Bern mint. The design is still in use today tho the coin is now copper-nickel. This specimen is struck to the standard of the French two francs of 1866-1920. This is a better date.

Recorded mintage: 300,000 plus specimens.

Specification: 10 g, 0.835 fine silver, 27.4 mm diameter, reeded edge.
