Sincona sale 83, lot 5259

This specimen was lot 5259 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$535 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND, 10 Rappen 1899 B, Bern. Äusserst seltene Erhaltung. NGC MS66. Prachtexemplar. Das durch NGC höchstbewertete Exemplar (Extremely rare condition, Cabinet piece, Finest certified by NGC)." This type was struck 1879-2015 without change. Later dates from after World War Two can be had in any grade for a few dollars.

Recorded mintage: 500,000, a better date.

Specification: 3 g, copper-nickel, 19.15 mm diameter.
