Künker sale 264, lot 3293

This specimen was lot 3293 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €420 (about US$543 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"KÖNIGREICH Oskar II. 1872-1907. 20 Kronen 1880, Stockholm. 8,06 g Feingold. GOLD. Winz. Randfehler, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (kingdom of Sweden, Oscar II, 1872-1907, twenty kronor of 1880, Stockholm mint. Small rim bumps, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck in Sweden 1877-99, all with mintmaster Emil Brusewitz (initials "EB"). The release of the hoard of the Bank of Sweden in the late nineties made this type common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 127,000.

Specification: 8.96 g, 0.900 fine gold.
