Sweden 1862-ST ducat Fr-91
This specimen was lot 3100 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWEDEN. Karl XV. 1859-1872. Dukat 1862, Stockholm. Kleine Signatur. Mit den Signaturen ST und LA (Sebastian Tham, Münzmeister in Stockholm, 1855-1878, und Lea Ahlborn, Stempelschneiderin in Stockholm). Selten in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS64+. Prachtexemplar. (kingdom of Sweden, Charles XV, ducat of 1862, Stockholm mint, small signature "ST". Rare in this condition, uncirculated, Cabinet piece.)"
Swedish coinage was reformed in 1830 and in 1855 but the ducat survived both unscathed. In 1873, the riksdaler species was dropped for the krona and the ducat finally abandoned. This type, struck 1860-68, is the final issue.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.976 fine gold.
